AEGIS CARMINIS 2021 CHORAL COMPETITION ONLINE CONCERT

Dear participants of the choir competition!

We are glad that you have significantly co-created our festival with your recordings. By presenting the compositions of your composers, you have made an important contribution to the promotion of choral music and learning about the diversity of artistic creation around the world.

By your presence on the pedestal of the bravest, you demonstrate the value and importance of your functioning and existence. Your presentations will definitely inspire many who lose their will and despair during a pandemic.

The anticipated four categories (A, B, C, D) were transformed into SUBCATEGORIES (A1, A2, B2, C1, C2, D1, D2). The received videos were sorted according to the method of performance. Thus, choirs are classified into the subcategories "live performance" and "virtual choir". In this way, we wanted to enable the jury to do quality work and make sense in discovering the qualities of individual recordings.

The original idea to present choirs at online concerts individually by category was transformed into ONE CONCERT due to the different number of entrants in individual categories.

As we are not yet able to perform activities in the halls in Slovenia, we gave you some snapshots from the previous festival at the beginning of the concert and took you to some hidden corners of our beautiful city.

At the welcome speech by Jury President Gary Graden, you will feel the jury's enthusiasm for the presentations and the work you have done in the emergency. The jury watched the received videos with interest and evaluated them. At the end of the online concert, you will be able to read about their decisions.
